Sweeter than French toast, these Canadian cuties speak the language of crispy potatoes and Victor Hugo, but reserve it for conversation and perhaps love-making. Apparently French is not the language of rock ‘n roll.

Straight from the suburbs of Montreal, Simple Plan pleads teen angst in front of a grand jury of most of Seventeen Magazine’s readership. With their very first Atlantic release, No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls, the boys have employed an exceptionally clever testicular pun in the guise of sports equipment and packed their record full of aggressive and precise tunes. “I’m just a kid and my life is a nightmare,” the most anthemic cry from the single "I’m Just a Kid," placed them in some sort of time warp 16-forever box, but at least it’s a genre. Punk-pop right down to the big pants and studded belts, these boys have made a boy scout solid pact to have fun and rock all the way to their second album.
